About my experience
I completed my undergrad at the University of Southern California in Environmental Studies and Sociology. My degree gives me insights into how people and systems interact.
Recently, I was in a product design program under Jennifer Wong, in which I designed and scaled a content retrieval system on Tiktok as a passion project. I've worked on responsive mobile and desktop projects such as: a small business social and eCommerce app, Tiktok redesign, city government environmental websites, and website redesigns.
Before I pivoted into design, I made the State of California and City of Carlsbad environmental policies easy to understand to the public and internal stakeholders.
About why I got into design
I design to empower others to create change for themselves so they can redesign their own lives as I’ve had. As the eldest daughter of a low-income, immigrant family, I began interacting and using technology because of my parents. While growing up, since my parent’s second language was English, I helped them navigate the internet, translate confidential information, and learn how to solve their technological issues.
While my family focused on building a better life, I navigated higher education and the world alone. Technology has provided me with the means to be free and independent. The internet made learning lessons like finance and hygiene more accessible. I was empowered to be self-sufficient. My hardships drive me to create inclusive and accessible experiences to make people’s lives easier, enjoyable, and more independent.
I am focused on connecting people to opportunity. I believe products should be thoughtful, intentional, and aimed towards accessibility. I am passionate about designing products that are inviting to people regardless of disability, class, and uniqueness.
